It's overcast and damp today. I'll get the snow tires put on the car and run a few errands. Then maybe a drive to the bird refuge to see some swans. It's a birthday today. We always remember the birthdays even when other things begin to fade.
Snow tyres huh?? it doesn't seem five minutes since the last time!
Birthdays should be remembered - even if those are no longer with us. We always remember them and also anniversaries. my grandfather would have been 132 years old tomorrow - I kid you not.
No snow tires at all? How do people get around in MN snow without snow tires? All-weather tires just don't cut it here, too many hills. They may have done away with studded tires here, I don't recall for sure, but I never like them anyway. Give me some good deep tread and rubber designed for the cold.
Years ago in Germany we had to use snow chains. As soon as the snow came, the chains went onto the tyres - it as the law. I don't know of they still do it or if the improvement in tyres has made the chains obsolete. Will have to do some research!
Bee, during snowstorms they often require chains in certain mountain passes and on ski resort roads. In the valleys, good snow tires are ok although if it gets bad enough, sometimes people will even chain up here. You can always tell the people who don't have snow tires -- they are sliding all over the place.

Snow tires? I vaguely remember those. Been banned here for years. Now if they'd only ban blizzards it would all fit together nicely. :)

That last comment was referring to Utah, not Germany, though I suspect it may be similar there now as well.

I live on a dirt road in an area with lots of dirt roads so I go Mud and Snow and keep them on all year around.
Birthdays and anniversaries I remember better now then when loved one were alive. Strange huh?
