Poetry Wednesday: Hot and Cold

Looking for something seasonal, I instead ran across something spicy and surprising from Roald Dahl. Enjoy.

Hot and Cold

A woman who my mother knows
Came in and took off all her clothes.

Said I, not being very old,
'By golly gosh, you must be cold!'

'No, no!' she cried. 'Indeed I'm not!
I'm feeling devilishly hot!'

49There once was a lady from Jordan
Who needed escape from her boredom.
She put a leash on her dog
Went out in the fog
And the knight that she found
Just kept running around
Till she took him to task
With the aid of her flask
He was handsome without even a bag on.
